First assignment after Academy was security detail aboard U.S.S. Enterprise. Received assignment at request of Enterprise captain James T. Kirk, who served with his father, Captain Joseph Garrovick, aboard the U.S.S. Farragut, 2254-2257.  Ensign Garrovick was in security detail that encountered dikironium cloud creature on Argus X.  Garrovick assisted Captain Kirk in baiting and destroying cloud creature on surface of the planet.
